Residents Love On-Site Fitness Programs

There’s a high interest in fitness centers for residents, according to a recent survey. In fact, over 80% of renters consider it a top priority. Recently, multifamily developers have been taking notice of this. We know how important a fitness center can be to potential residents. What is one way to make a fitness center even more attractive? “Fitness-on-demand” programming is a new way to do just that.

Yoga Classes
In a recent survey conducted by Cortland Partners, yoga ranked the most popular fitness option and 71% of renters said that they would be likely to participate. When it comes to staying dedicated to wellness and mental well-being, adding in yoga classes is a great option.

Kickboxing Workouts
Over half of residents remarked that they had a high interest in taking kickboxing classes. Not only does it help residents de-stress after a potentially long day, but it’s one of the best ways to keep residents healthy and strong.

Why do residents love on-site fitness programs so much? They’re convenient and many residents don’t have to pay for outside gym memberships. A few other key factors from the multifamily survey note that Wednesday evenings are the most popular time slots for classes.

So, what does this tell us? Now more than ever, people want the convenience of having the option to workout at home without having to actually “be home”. With something as simple as having weekly yoga gatherings in a designated area, you can attract residents without having to drop a ton of money on expensive gym equipment. It’s win-win for your community and your potential residents.
